On the basis of this model, it is possible to explain how six factors - diet, environment, lifestyle, exercise (in the form of asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), and mental techniques - can be used to restore balance to both body and mind."
Excerpt from "Yoga Therapy" by A G Mohan and Indra Mohan

Yoga and Ayurveda form a comprehensive and integrated working model to address all aspects of our health and well-being - both for maintaining health and for resolving conditions of ill health.

Jivamaya Yoga Therapy is a site where I wish to share with you what I have learned over the years as a student of Yoga and Ayurveda, with the lofty hope that you may be encouraged to find ways in which you can find balance and wellness in your life.

It is a place where I also wish to share great new (and old!) books, articles, courses, and miscellaneous information pertaining to yoga and ayurveda – such as RAD trip suggestions to India! It is my hope that this site will become one of your regular stops online when you are researching something in regard to yoga, yoga therapy, and/or Ayurveda – or maybe just to reach out and become inspired along your own personal journey.

A little about me: I am a long time student of both Yoga and Ayurveda.  I am a C-IAYT certified Yoga Therapist/Educator, a Certified Ayurvedic Health Educator, a Certified Yoga of Recovery Educator.  In addition, I am the Advertising Manager for the International Journal of Yoga Therapy, the Yoga Therapy Today magazine, both published by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), plus the Ayurveda Journal of Health, published by the Institute of Advanced Sciences.

I will always be a student first.  This journey with Yoga and Ayurveda has enriched my life in so many ways. I believe strongly in the process of self-healing, hence this website.  It is my way to reach out to as many as possible to share the tools in my tool box – the wonderful healing tools of Yoga and Ayurveda.  To quote Yogi Bhajan “The process of self-healing is the privilege of every being. Self-healing is not a miracle, nor is self-healing a dramatization of the personality as though you could do something superior. Self-healing is a genuine process of the relationship between the physical and the infinite power of the soul.
